The Aston Martin V12 Vantage is a sporty two-seater rear traction motor and 517 hp V12, which carries the DBS. Unlike the latter, is only available with a manual gearbox six speeds. Aston Martin will produce only 1,000 units of the V12 Vantage. In Spain is priced at € 196,529.
It is an alternative to models like the Corvette Z06, Audi R8, the Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe LP560-4 Ferrari 599 GTB or the F-1. Reaches 305 km / h top speed and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.2 s. Is slower and has a top speed less than all of them (comparative tab).
The Aston Martin V12 Vantage consume on average 16.4 l/100km. Among the two-seater coupe with engine over 500 hp, only spent fuel over the 599 GTB Ferrari F-1 and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Coupe, both with 21.3 l/100 km. The Audi R8 5.2 FSI V10, the Corvette Z06 and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Coupe consumed between 13.7 and 14.7 l/100 km (list of cars with coupe bodywork and engine over 500 hp ordered by consumption).
The V12 Vantage measured 4.38 m long, 1.86 m wide and 1.24 m tall and weighs 1755 kg. The V12 engine is made of aluminum, it’s atmospheric, it has four valves per cylinder, variable intake and indirect injection. According to Aston Martin, is 100 kg heavier than the leading V8 Vantage.
However, for the final weight there is no increase in this ratio, the V12 Vantage is manufactured with the greatest amount of light materials: ceramic brakes, forged aluminum wheels and some composite panels. Optionally you can have a few seats lighter than standard, made of carbon fiber and Kevlar. They save about 17 kg of the series.
In addition, the body is 15 mm closer to the ground in the V12 in the V8, the springs are 45% harder and stabilizer bars are less flexible (15% front and 75% rear). Take some alloy wheels, 19”, with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires of 255/35 in front and 295/30 at the rear.
The Aston Martin Vantage, both with V8 or V12 engine, is a two-seater coupe smaller than the DB9 (4.38 m versus 4.71 m). Its engine is placed, for the most part, behind the front axle and the change is ahead of the rear axle.
The chassis is aluminum and composite parts. To locate the V12 engine (image), much larger than the V8 (image), Aston Martin has had to make several changes in the structure of Vantage. It has changed the position of the turrets of the suspension, the air intakes and ducts that cool the brakes. Despite these changes, the length of the body unchanged.
